The Auxiliary Thrift Shop is a Hawarden institution. Volunteers sort through donations of gently used items then label, price, stock and sell them. It is an impressive operation, especially when you consider it is staff completely by volunteers. If you break a coffee pot, check the Auxiliary before buying a new one. |

| “I have a lot of admiration for and feel much gratitude toward the Auxiliary, as do all the hospital staff. The Auxiliary’s support and commitment to the Hawarden Community Hospital is truly an act of love and civic pride. They touch the lives of nearly every patient seeking care at the hospital today through their various contributions.” CEO |

“The auxiliary has greatly expanded the capabilities of our laboratory which has allowed us to do more tests locally. This gives us the ability to provide critical information to local providers quicker than if we had to send these tests to an off-site lab.” Glenda Van Wyhe, Director Ancillary Services |
